Mill Creek Mini-Tri is the competitive division of our Mill Creek Try-A-Tri, for youth finishing 4th – 7th grades.  It includes a 1-mile run, obstacle course kayak paddle, and a 1-mile bicycle ride.  This event is timed, and participants may run in waves to ensure safe numbers on the kayaking portion of the course.  Competitors must bring their own bike, helmet, and properly fitted lifejacket.  They may bring their kayak, or use one provided by the Friends of Mill Creek.

This course is designed for first-time competitors as an introduction to the sport.  Safety is our primary concern, so transitions will be monitored by adult volunteers, and participants are expected to follow directions given by these volunteers to ensure everyone’s safety.

Finished 4th Graders to 7th Grades

WHAT: TRY-A-TRI (Non-competitive Division K-4th Grade)
WHEN: Sunday, May 31, 2026; Check in Starts at 1:45, Event starts 2:15

The Try-A-Tri is the non-competitive division designed for youth Kindergarten to 4th grade.  The course consists of a 1-mile run, short kayak obstacle course, and a 1 mile bike race.  This event is not timed, and each leg of the event is supervised by adult volunteers.  Youth must bring their own bike, helmet, and properly fitting life vest.  Kayaks will be provided by Friends of Mill Creek.
